On 28 May 2026, Tlokweng District Council launched the EMPOWER+ Youth Parliament initiative, introducing 17 young participants who will help establish a Rural Youth Parliament in the district. The initiative aims to strengthen youth participation in governance, community development and policymaking across Botswana and Sub-Saharan Africa.
