On 28 May 2026, Tlokweng District Council launched the EMPOWER+ Youth Parliament initiative, introducing 17 young participants who will help establish a Rural Youth Parliament in the district. The EMPOWER+ project was recently presented at the European Parliament in Strasbourg during the European Youth Dialogue event, highlighting its mission to empower rural youth through active participation, democratic engagement, and stronger dialogue with decision-makers.
